Position Overview:
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our commercial construction projects. This leadership role will focus on driving operational efficiency, optimizing project delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction operations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operations team, including project managers, superintendents, and other operational staff.
- Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure successful project completion within scope, time, and cost constraints.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement strategies for operational excellence and growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure all projects are in compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor and improve operational processes, continuously identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Analyze project performance data and provide regular updates to the executive team on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide mentorship and training to staff to develop leadership and technical skills across the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in commercial construction operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management software, and budgeting tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with contract negotiation, vendor management, and client relations.
- Familiarity with local Austin construction codes, regulations, and market trends.
- LEED accreditation or other relevant certifications are a plus.
